Two new timber frame homes are being constructed by Jim Kelly of Forest Carpentry Homes near Lyndhurst in the New Forest.
The two homes have been designed and specified to meet the Passivhaus Plus standard. This means the homes will be Net Zero Carbon, as the photovoltaics on the roof will generate as much energy as each home uses. As the homes meet the exacting Passivhaus standard for the building fabric, energy demand is less, so the amount of PV needed on the roof is reduced.
